SUMMARY
Performs pesticide application work, maintains school grounds and athletic fields. Performs all duties of a grounds maintenance worker and fulfills duties of Qualifying Party.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Qualified Applicator registered with the Arizona Department of Agriculture Pest Management Division:
Certification as an applicator for 24 months within 10 years immediately preceding the application in the category applied for.
OR
Certification as an applicator for 12 months within 10 years immediately preceding the application in the category applied for and either:
- Successful completion of 12 semester hours or its equivalent.
- Successful completion of 12 semester hours or its equivalent within the 10 years preceding the application in pest management courses directly related to each category applied for.
- A Bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences, biological sciences, or pest management with 12 semester hours or its equivalent in pest management courses directly related to each category applied for.
Twenty-four (24) months of experience in the business of pest management, within the ten years preceding application directly related to the category applied for.
Eighteen (18) months of experience in grounds maintenance and athletic field preparation for events or related fields.
Basic math skills.
Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
Must be able to work weekends.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
FBI fingerprint background check.
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
Complete Qualifying Party registration with Arizona Department of Agriculture Pest Management Division within three months of hire.
Post-offer/pre-employment physical examination and 50 lb ift test.
ADOT (Arizona Dept. of Transportation) Medical Certificate required after hire.
Must hold a current Arizona Driver’s license and have accrued no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.
Maintain current Structural Pest Control Commission certifications in the following areas: A-General Pest, B-Weeds, C-Turf and Ornamental, D-Right of Way.

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
