SUMMARY
Assist staff in providing a safe closed educational environment that promotes the development and personal growth of disabled students unable to be mainstreamed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Associate’s (or higher) degree, or two-years (60 Semester-Hour credits) of study at an institute of higher learning
OR
Completion of an AZ Dept. of Education-approved Academic Assessment Test.
AND
Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend
written/graphic and oral instructions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Two years experience working with children.
One year of experience working with emotionally disabled youth or children in a closed institutional setting.
Knowledge or training of behavior management programs such as Client Intervention Technique training, or
Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, or de-escalation skills or experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
FBI fingerprint background check.
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization
CPR and First Aid Certification
Annual mandatory training on Bloodborne Pathogens, Universal Precautions, and Hepatitis B vaccination series
Must release Social Security Number to be eligible for [AZ Health Care Cost Containment System] AHCCCSProvider ID Number
Physical Examination with Lift Test to be done by one of the clinics with which the District contracts (Category B) and sign a Medical History form
Must complete Student Intervention Techniques (SIT) training within 6 months of hire.

FTE: .9375 – 7.5 hours per day
Work Calendar: 9 month
