SUMMARY Manages and coordinates the maintenance, designs, installs, repairs, and maintains refrigeration and cooling systems in a variety of settings, including commercial, and industrial functions of food services equipment. Manages and coordinates the department operations, and renovations/construction of kitchens and the Food Services facilities. Coordinates repair services with the facilities maintenance department. Oversees budget and installation of new equipment. Reviews needs and makes recommendations for equipment asset purchases. Facilitates equipment relocation, retirement, or storage
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC engineering, or related field OR Completion of a recognized training program in the related field AND Six (6) years experience in food service equipment or appliance repair, to include refrigeration, (low and medium temperature) electrical, gas and plumbing installation and repair. 40CFR Part 82, Subpart F Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification Type I or Type II. One (1) or more years of supervisory experience. Knowledge of applicable County, State, Federal electrical, safety, plumbing, mechanical, cooling and energy efficiency codes. Knowledge of multiple refrigeration systems and proficient with commercial layouts of refrigeration equipment, and hydronic heat of rejection piping systems. Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE FBI fingerprint background check. Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization. Post-offer/pre-employment physical examination and 75 lb. lift test. Must hold a current Arizona Driver’s license and have accrued no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees. Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
